Northern Ireland Speaks Out

The second annual debate event took place on 10 November 2010 in Ashfield Boys’ High School before a capacity crowd of over 400, including a large number of young people. Chaired by BBC NI’s political commentator, Mark Devenport, the panel comprised:

Martin McGuinness MLA (SF) Deputy First Minister of NI

Liam Clarke (Political journalist and commentator)
Hugo Swire MP (Minister of state for NI)

Discussion was lively, though always courteous, and a wide range of issues were explored in discussion.
Oral and written feedback on the event was totally positive, with people going away energised by the evening’s debate.
